2026 SUMMER CAMP: BT8 will head back to Camp Freedom in the Heritage Scout Reservation in southwestern Pennsylvania for a week of summer camp from June 21-27, 2026. Troop Leadership has determined that we will NOT be moving our Summer Camp registration due to the MCPS extended school year. Scouts who attend partial camp are responsible for their own transportation.

Troop 8 has been invited to support a Rise Against Hunger meal-packing event at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Potomac Village on Saturday, March 7th, 10 am to 12:30 pm. Volunteers at the event will pack 10,000 meals that will be distributed to people in a developing nation.

Troop 8 will support a water table at the Montgomery County Road Runners’ trail race on Saturday, March 28th, 7 to 9:30 am.

Please consider supporting Pack 460's Pinewood Derby on Jan 31st, 2-5 pm, at Holy Redeemer School Gym (9715 Summit Avenue, Kensington, MD).

The Pack could use 1-2 older Scouts to help run cars back and forth and in other ways during the event. Scouts younger than 14 should bring a parent to the event. Interested Scouts can register through the BT8 website.

We are headed to the nearby Marsden Tract on the Potomac for a quick hiking and camping adventure. Please sign up this weekend (by 12/7/2025) to help us plan.
